Scarlet Macaw Sad! What can i do. And more Questions.?

I have a Scarlet Macaw he is Tame, and well today i took him to do his nails and his beak and well his wings to (even though i didn't want to Clip his wings) anyways but when we brought him home he has been sad and scared of us. What can i do for him not to be scared or sad. I thought that he was probably scared because since i got him, the guy told me that his nails where super long and well im guessing he has a long time without doing his nails and beak! He is seven years old! And well i would like too know more stuff about these birds too. And well i would like to know how can i know when a bird is sleepy and what can do if he is and is in the daylight?
